Well, I just scored a brand new Ingersol Rand 2135ti max, on eBay for 150, but the funny thing is I don't have any impact sockets. I would like to buy a (quality) set with metric and standard, that has a wide variety of sizes. I love snap on but Im a cheapskate , so can any one point me in the right direction for a GOOD set new or used for under $200?

Grey Pneumatic or Sunex from tooltopia.com will be your top response here.

Ingersoll sockets from Amazon arent bad either. I have all 3.

Craftsman are the best buy. Made by Armstrong, quality and US made. They are often half off. I have a mix of Snap-on and Craftsman and try to buy Craftsman when I can. Buying this item is no compromise.

You might want to consider picking up a single socket from each of the brands you find that fits the bill. Then you can get some first hand experience. Just get common sizes you use, so you'll have spares for your go-to sockets when you make the final decision.

Just my thought on the subject.

I've heard shockingly good things about the HF impact sockets. Being able to just go to the store to warranty a piece is better then having to deal with online warranty. Same can be said for Craftsman.

I have some Proto that I got in 2006 that I like the design and you can get them on Amazon at a decent price but I don’t know what the current ones are like.

For that price I would get Allen sets from Menards as they are USA made and in the clearance section. I put Allen above any Craftsman I have left. I still have my Snap-On sets for which I like the best.

Thanks, JASTECH
