Help with Info on old Reed Vice

Hello, thanks for the add and first post. Last summer me and the wife went to the beach and while I was perusing the local Craigslist ads I saw a Ford truck Grill assembly for sale and ended up buying. While there I also bought this big, old Reed Vice, embossed with “43”. It has a patented date but the year is illegible. What you can read is “June 3”. It weighs a whopping 120 lbs! That was a pretty strange load to be carrying home from the beach, a big vise and a 1973 F100 grille assembly.
Can anyone here tell me about more about this vise? Maybe a range of years it was made and a value?

That's a really rare and early Reed combination vise, preceding the 1905, 2nd generation combination vise. It's missing the pipe jaws, but seems to be in usable condition and yes, use that oil can liberally.

As far as a value, put it up for a 7-day eBay auction at a no reserve starting price of $0.99 and in a week, we'll both know what it's value is.

Nah, can’t do that. It’s not for sale at this time. I’ve got it mounted on a table.

I’ve seen them sell for $600-700. I paid $300 for mine and gave it to my nephew some years later, but that was twenty years ago.
