OK, throwing my line in the water again with a mark I can't scratch up any I'd on. I think the head is a Baltimore Jersey pattern? I can read L. SCR & RR below it and then A72. Any ideas???

BamaDAD,

That might be a proprietary marking, not a mfgr's marking. RR tools were commonly marked with the company name, especially hammers and other striking tools. I might guess Scranton RR, if you were in the Northeast.

Just a guess.

Thank You! I am actually in Alabama. But who knows? Right. I mean have you ever heard someone say when they retire they want to move North???? Scranton is the only thing I could imagine either out of the L. SCR? The A72 also has me puzzled. Haven't been able to dig up any other similar markings. Thanks again Private Lugnutz!
