I can't decide whether to go with lag bolts and mount them directly to the wall or using the supplied brackets and buying some of the gear track strips. I don't ever plan to move them around. If i do go the bolt route, it's just a bolt and washer correct? About what size?

And if I do go with track/supplied bracket route, how much of a gap is left back there between the wall and the cabinet? thanks,

I would buy the track, just hung one myself today. I would have never invested in it, but the house we bought was already setup with the track in most of the garage. Now that I have it, I have bought more and really like it.

The only issue with mounting the Gladiator cabinets on the studs is the need for drilling some new holes in the cabinet. Just use 4 lags and washers.

I have also installed Gladiator cabinets with only the top GearTrack to align a row of cabinets. Once the GearTrack are in alignment/leveled then screwed onto the studs it was a simple matter to lift and hang the cabinets. I then ran a board horizontally on the studs as the bottom track and used short lags and washers to secure them. The cabinets can still be slided along the track by removing the bottom lags.

Otherwise wait for a sale on the track as a BOGO

Just got back from Lowes and I decide to go with the track. I just hung one of the cabinets and I'm thinking I like how it all went together. I'll hang the next one tomorrow. Thanks all for chiming in.
