broke the handle somehow , right at the groove that hold the screw in place. I cant see how to fix it, seeing the weld spot would be in the groove area. I will apologize ahead of time for the incorrect terms used to id the parts of my vise. do anyone have a source for a replacement handle. I love the vise . I checked ebay, no one has any as of yet. I figured one of my fellow GJ members might have one or atleast a lead to it. Thank you

FL18: OUCH!! since i'm not a welder i'm not sure what the fix would be, but the vise looks like it's worth saving. sorry to say i have a shortage of Athol and Starrett vises so finding a screw off another one might not be easy either. you might want to post up your issue over on the vise repair 101 thread that gets a lot of views and maybe some of those guys and gals have some idea how to guide you.

here's the link and best of luck

Hi,
I would center drill and tap.

Put the 2 peices back together (now straight)

V groove for weld penetration

And then slowly mig weld!

Clean up with a file and sand paper!

Echoing what he said, except I'd drill the handle out enough to literally bolt it onto the threaded portion, and then drill perpendicularly to run a roll pin though the threaded portion and bolt. Then weld.
