so I just bought a new compressor&I need some help...it a 60 gallon single stage dual head cast iron puma compressor...The store wasn't very helpful&had ZERO paperwork on it.I know its a 6hp but is 3hp running&believe but not certain it runs@175 max psi. There not a adjustable gauge on it like on my other one to set the psi.
So here are my questions do I just run a separate gauge for the actually I know I do just how do I add it?Also not sure of What type of plumbing I should use I currently use a small oil/moisture seperator &a small filter that attaches to the end of my hvlp gun.
I know that's not enough What do You recommend? Also it seems I need to hardware this thing straight to my box in my shop.Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is single stage (according to you) so the max pressure will be somewhere between 120 and 135 psi. You will normally only get 175 psi on two stage compressors.

If is is 3 "running" hp then it is 3 hp. The 6 "starting" hp is fake and has not useful meaning other than for sales purposes. Its all about Standard Cubic Feet per Minute (SCFM or CFM) anyhow.

Not having a way to adjust the pressure means you do not have a pressure regulator. Probably just a shut off ball valve on the side of the tank.

Is it 120V or 240V? How do you have it connected now? or do you have it running yet?

A quick Google search yields the puma website

http://www.pumaairusa.com/

Where you will find a link for the not too useful product manuals.

Roughly 4.5 amps/hp so definitely not 6. That number alone should be a cue that its not right. Not that special motors aren't available but they generally go 3, 5, 7.5, 10.

so I'm guessing hard wire it to the box or will it be better to run a male plug out&install a 220 socket? Also whats the best breaker I should run...I have a separate plug that is a 50 amp 250 volt outlet if I remember correct my grandpa either ran a welder or the lift off of it

I have this same compressor and I hard wired mine. I am very happy with mine but yes, the manual is useless. I added a regulator and water filter.
