Last June a friend and I installed a new entry door I ordered with pvc jambs as I was tired of dealing w/wood rot at the bottom of the jambs.
It was a bit of a pain as it is a prefab house w/6" walls and the door being replaced didn't have a sidelight.
Everything was square and plumb when we set the door and it was issue free until the weather started to cool off.
The sweep started to drag on the sill and it got worse the colder it got.
I shimmed the bottom and middle hinges as much as I could while still maintaining clearance on the strike side but it hasn't helped much. Took this pic today and said "whoa there's a lot of bowing in the jambs", but put a straight edge on it and the strike side is actually fine but the sidelight jambs are bowed about 1/4 inch.
I'm thinking that pulling the trim and running more screws through the bowed jamb and into the stud (w/shims) should get it. 3 screws on each side atm. 3 has been fine for me before but have never put in a door with pvc jambs.
If anyone sees anything I'm missing here or if a different corrective action would be better please let me know.
