Help with old roller cabinet ID please - !

I picked this small roller cabinet up a few years ago. It ain't broke (functions perfectly), but it's somewhat bent!

Never have been able to ID it, as I can find no identifying marks on it whatsoever. Definitely has that 50s feel to it...you can see in the pic that there was a badge on it at some point, on the right side of the 3rd drawer down.

It also has a "corrugated" metal handle on the left side (looking at the box).

The slides are actually rollers, not friction. Wheels that run in a track.

I picked it up here in RI, out of an old barn, along with a SO mid-section chest in excellent condition (1961), for $40 total...

Anyone have any idea who made this?

Many companies made that style box, but that's the first one I've seen with those rollers instead of slides. since it is vintage and the guys that watch the vintage toolbox thread might have your answer. you might post it there too and see if you get a response from one or more of them. nice buy for $40

i like those slides go i like how easy they are to remove the drawers.

It maybe a repainted craftsman from the late 50's. My '63 roll cab has rollers very much like that. Not sure who was the OEM at that time, waterloo or maybe rem line.

It's not snap on, that is for certain. Press steel, comes to mind for some reason, but I'd have to check on that. :
Possibly an old mac box.

I vote made by Waterloo, sold as Waterloo or Craftsman. I have owned both WL and Cman boxes like that with the smooth red paint job and that style handles.

I have both a 1960 and 1962 Craftsman upper and lower set and they are Waterloo made for Sears. Ditto on the '68 top box too.

Just a thought. The fact that it looks SO similar to my Snap on KR 352 makes me think it might be made by whoever was making boxes for Snap on at the time.

Possibly MBC?

The lock location and drawer configuration seems way too coincidental not to be the same manufacturer.

I had keys made for mine shortly after I got it. The lock cylinder is marked "WP 26" next to the key slot.

Anything on yours?

i was thinking MBC too, but if you check the vintage thread there are lots of choices. i think the guys are on to something with the craftsman and the rollers instead of the slides.

here's my MBC for a little help if needed. my bottom roller has slides and not rollers though. Craftsman did like to take different designs from others and have one made a little different so that might be a clue too.

I think the WP series locks are Waterloo as all of the WL made Craftsmans I have had WP locks or "LL" series locks.

My 2 cents would entail a vote for Waterloo. Nothing stamped on the bottom plate near the right caster?

I just checked my lock. It says, "SN" and then has a four digit number.
