Help with parts washer?

I have the parts washer in the link below and I am pretty happy with the unit. I do have one small issue, the pump on it flows too well. If I move the flexible nozzle around to rinse an item off it splatters off the item and starts to shoot out of the tank. Is there an easy way to reduce the flow rate a bit without damaging the pump?

Adapt a shower head to it?
You could install a T with a valve, then use to divert some pressure directly into tank base.

Close! I put a standard kitchen faucet diffuser on mine (home made) you can also put in a tee where the flex threads into the pump outlet, and then a small valve with a "rinse down" tube on that, and bleed off excess pressure. My setup has both. The tube simply sprays the excess parallel to a bottom edge, and helps keep the crud rinsed out of the basin.

The pumps in those things don;t care if you block the flow partially(or completely). You could install a simple valve in the gooseneck and just tweak it to wherever you want it.

Hey, John.

Centrifugal pumps, such as you find in most parts washers, can be deadheaded (the exit closed completely). I typically use a simple ball valve screwed between the pump and the flex hose and adjust as needed. You can also choke the inlet (e.g., superglue a washer on it), but that's a bit permanent for my taste.

Cheers;
Craig
