good shape, keys, side swing up shelf, friction slides

the top is model 526 and the bottom is 295

these are 1970's vintage.

ideas?

not a great pic, but you may get the idea. hot tub pump not included. :)

I would post at ~$300 and take anything north of say $250 or so.

Kennedy boxes probably have the worst resale value of all tool box brands. They are good quality, but not the best for general garage use. Primarily designed for machinists. Problem with the used market is that it is very competitive and for ~$250 you can usually get quite of bit more storage space for your money. When you get close to the $350 mark, you are looking at a new 42" harbor freight bottom which has quite a bit more appeal to the general market.

You have the positives of being in good condition and that folding side shelf and keys.

Down side is that the top box is kinda small for general mechanics tools.

You MAY get more if you separate the top and bottom, but I doubt it.

I would go about $350 for the combo. $200 for bottom and $150 for the top. I paid $60 for an almost mint don't think it ever held a tool three drawer bottom. Kennedys are in general way under price on cl. There is a newer 29" wide 7 drawer bottom for $150 by me right now.

What were you expecting to get out of them?

i guess i was hoping for $400-$450. machinists tend to love Kennedy boxes and i'll be looking to tap into that market.

You never know until you try the market. All depends on how fast you want it gone and who ends up seeing the ad.

^^^Definitely true. In this neck of the woods, in really nice condition that set would sit at least 2 weeks at anything over $200. Maybe in a month or so I could get $300, but I like <1 week sales, so Id probably price it at $175 and take $160.

Part of getting top dollar is good pics and a good description.

The other part is finding the right buyer.

While the top is a machinist box, the bottom can go either way. those drawer pulls on the roller were on all the mechanics boxes.
