help with ridge cap

I'm wondering the best way to close off the ends of my metal cap.

The builder or the kit should have rubber closure strips supplied.

On my pole barn, I took some of the leftover flashing and made cut-outs that fit the opening and screwed it in. Kinda looked like upside down V's.

^^^This. Depending on the vendor and brand of metal roofing, there may be pre-formed end caps offered. These need to be custom ordered for your roof pitch. It's much easier to just form your own.
