Help With RP wrench choice

Hello
I would like your guys feedback on this

I have craftsman rp 1/4- 1-1/8 and
10mm -24mm all in 12pt USA

I also have complete sets of craftsman reversible ratcheting wrenches
5/16 - 3/4 8pc and
8mm -18mm 8pc 12pt box USA

Craftsman flex locking head wrenches
5/16 - 3/4 7pc
10, 12, 15mm ze USA

Here is zee question should I upgrade my rp to 6pt
or is it even an upgrade

I realize the 12pt gives you mucho mas indexing points but, I have these other ratcheting wrenches

I plan on off setting the cost of the 6pts by selling the 12's, I can not afford to have both especially since I don't remember using the rp wrenches in a long while

Just toying with the idea since the 6pts are on the cheap right now and would in theory not cost me anything to swap them out

I'm a diy er, and parts changer on the family's cars

What do you guys think

Get 6 points. Then get a set of ratcheting wrenches..problem solved.

Just buy the 6pt and add them to what you already have. You won't get much in resale value in selling used craftsman wrenches.

6Pt wrenches are a pain in the *** unless they ratchet. Dont bother with them

Good luck offsetting your costs by selling craftsman raised panel wrenchs.

I've got both.

The reality is that for the average non **** mechanic you will never know the difference .

Buy the 6 points if you feel the need, but you'll kick yourself if you sell the 12 pointers

As said above, the Cman 12pt set will not get you much money when selling unless they're all the original old-school date coded V series. Just add the 6pt set to your toolbox. They are handy when dealing with rusted fasteners.

Add on if the wallet allows but don't let the 12pt go. I'm no fan of CM RP but if they work for your needs then you already have what you'll need for a long time more.

I easily get through my job with only 4 wrench sets in an indy shop, I used to have a lot more but they never got used.

This place got me all hot and bothered for 6 point combo wrenches, so I found a set of US SAE RPs.... And I've used them (actually, one wrench) ONCE.

I wouldn't bother. But then I don't live in the rust belt, either.

Keep the 12pt and wait until you see the 6pt on a 50% off or less sale. That's if Sears is still around for that sale to happen. lol. You would, IMHO, be better off looking into adding a quality set of long pattern wrenches over the 6pt.

I used to have 6-point Craftsman RP wrenches and sold them because I really never used them.

12 point is fine. If you really want to use a 6-point in an application, just use a socket.

I know now someone will come up with a scenario where only a wrench will work and not a socket as a way to justify getting the 6-point wrenches, but I don't care. I still say don't bother buying 6-point wrenches.

As a pro i only own a couple 6 point wrenches. 5/16 for diff pin bolts and a 9/16 for some reason not sure why. And thats it. A quality set of 12 points will serve you well. Don't bother unless you know you will need them.

I only pondered the idea because sears has a 28pc rp wrench set usa for sixty bucks with a $10 in points coupon thems come out to $55 otd

6mm - 19mm

I keep my 12pts as you guys have advised me to do
I'll try and swing getting them as I believe they are well priced
