New guy, learning GJ posting protocol and ediquit, still learning...SEARCH etc.
I just picked up a motorcycle, grea shape low miles, but was stored seaside so has superficial salt air corrosion. Thoughts on stopping/reversing?
How about CLR.? WD40 bath,... ??

Depending on how bad it is 00 and finer steal wool will clean the surface or you can use a clay bar to clean it then follow it up with a good liquid polish. You will have to keep it polished regularly.

I live on the coast and deal with this on my Harley's. it's a constant battle.

I use Mothers chrome polish, and also the wadding polish (can't think of the name right now to save my life) I have a small 2'' air buffer as well.

depending on the extent there is no reversing and once chrome starts bubbleing it's done.

I keep mine clean, I do WD 40 them prior to winter layup, I also use a couple fitted sheets overtop to wick the moisture off the metal, I have seen mine consensate in my shop a time or 2 thats why I started using a fitted sheet.

I live right by the water in New England and deal with this all the time. Especially on the boat where everything metal starts to get a bit of surface rust by the end of the season or the end of the winter. We use collonite metal polish #850 and it works wonders. Rub it on with a rag, leave it for about 5 minutes while you apply it to other areas, and then rub it off with another rag. We do this twice a year on the boat and all of the metal looks like new, its a great product.

Thank you everyone, great stuff!
I know we've all seen the white powdery surface stuff, that sometimes 'drips', I think that would be the condensation "FullThrottle" was referencing.
Anyway, has anyone tried, CLR?
is it off track / to aggressive,
anyone. anyone,
Thanks again for everyone's insights.
