We have a log home (built 1983 so no chink) that has small cracks between the logs. Most are pretty small like 1/8 inch but I can see light through. What is the best way to seal them so my house stays warm. I thought of great stuff but the nozzel wont fit between the cracks. I am also looking for something that will look decent. As this will be in plain view inside the house.

My parents owned a log home for years. You should find caulk that matches (as closely as possible) the exterior color and caulk the exterior. You do not want moisture getting in between the logs and setting as this will rot the logs.

I have a friend who has a log home as her second home. She and her husband have used the waxed cotton stuff and she says she likes it.

She said that it can be removed and replaced easier and cleaner than using caulk.

I will have to ask her if she ever used the elastic stuff, and if so, how she liked/likes it..
