Help with Side Box ID. I'm Stumped.

Owner says it's a Mac. I cannot verify it. To me it looks like a Cman at the top but I don't know enough else to ID it. I'm interested in swapping out my side cabinet and, not that it matters too much, I'd like to know the Mfr.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming the 30 viewers were stumped, as well. The dimensions are: 18" deep, 16" wide, and 35" high.

There are 6 drawers. The pulls are what's throwing me off. As well, it matches the Cman it's hanging on as far as depth.

I think the sticker on the bottom may be correct. It looks like an older Mac side box. I remember seeing that steel flange on the older ones. I remember this because most companies don't leave it bare, but Mac did for a while.

I kinda think it is a mac as well, but the drawer pulls are just a little off. I will say this thou, unless it is under 5 years old, it is most likely an older USA unit of some make. Until HF came out with their boxes, the import box market pretty much didn't exist.

I'm thinking it isn't a Mac, but it may not matter. I assume you are looking to buy it.

What is he asking and just as important, how stout do the drawers feel. Also is it friction slides.

I say brand doesn't matter, because if the price is right and it is well built, and you need it, buy it. I'd also check the back for label and or embossing.

So if its $100 and you need it buy it. If its $200 bucks, you need proof its Mac. If its much more then that, It would have to be stout, BB slides, work well and be known manufacturer for sure.

You're right on, Fatfillup. One reason I am curious and came here with the question is the owner doesn't know much about it (slide-type, etc.) and we've only communicated briefly. I haven't had the opportunity to check it out, yet.

I do think I figured it out.

I was just looking at pics of an older Cornwell/Waterloo, which would account for the Cman-like design. Then, I noticed the aluminum pull covers and they match (as far as I can tell by the pics).

If it's a Waterloo-built box the quality will be similar to my older Cman boxes. I'm okay with that.

I want to say a waterloo built Proto box. How much are they asking for it? If it is a mac, I'm pretty sure it should be stamped.
