I have several Snap On ratchets about that vintage. They are a mix of styles and drive sizes. I like them and they are cheap to repair. Unless they are a rare style they don't seem to bring a lot, but they are solid ratchets.

It really depends on what you think about the older coarse tooth Snap on ratchets. Personally, I have a few of the 20 and 30 tooth ones and I don't care for them that much. I use my Gearwrench 120XP and other made in Taiwan ratchets far more than I use my old Snap on ratchets. If we are comparing Snap on new vs old, I'll take a dual 80 ratchet any day over the older ratchets.

$55 is kind of pricey. But then again, It's harder to find vintage flex head and screwdriver handle models on the used market than the usual fixed handle ones. I got handed down a beat up and rusted 3/8 dr Snap on F711A flex ratchet that my uncle purchased at the flea market for a few dollars. If you are collecting ratchets and you really want this one in your junk pile, $55 is acceptable. But if your main reason for buying it is for actual use, I'd pass.

I have been selling off older Snap on ratchets and getting better fine tooth ratchets because on today's cars you need to make things fit in tight areas and still ratchet. People will pay more than they are worth to me and I can get something more usable to the auto repair world of today.

I have dual 80's and still use my older Snap-On ratchets. To me, they just feel better in my hand. I will say that sometimes more teeth can be the difference. I converted my 7115 to I think 32 teeth because with the longer 15" handle, extra teeth will make a difference. I just got a Snap-On 1/4" roto ratchet and will say that is a game changer.
