The off-corner geometry radii comes into play here too, actual corner engagement varying my manufacturer.
Heres a pic showing the 2” would work but is a little big, thus my final conclusion of 1-15/16”.
Which is a moot point because that size is common in sockets, but no so much wrenches:

I still say the Crane wrench is the way to go! It's square, it's the right size, and best of all, it will match the era of the stuff! Forgot to mention - it's still available ($22 + $11.75 shipping), and the seller is taking offers!

I would use this as a prime excuse to buy a big *** ***** dropping 18” or 24” adjustable wrench. When people ask what the hell you use that on you can say: Oh that?…..I use that on my railroad.

If this is just a decorative thing, why not make your own wrench? A lot of easily worked materials can be used to turn a nut.
