So, I bought this tool from a distributor who got it from a retiring GM tech. Neither the distributor nor I have any idea what it is, but it is brass. I'm trying to harness the power of the internet to identify it. What did I buy?

I can't tell how long it is but it looks as though it may be a temporary brace when removing a drive train component or motor mount . just a guess !

Whenever I see brass or bronze like that, I think non sparking. Think if it were a temporary brace or bracket, they would have cast it in iron. All I got.
