Help with vise identification

I picked up this vise yesterday at a estate sale, I found one a while back that looks just like it and it's great very heavy and solid. I do not find any ID on either of them, The newest one I picked up though does bring up a question. There is no way I've found to lock up the jaw section from pivoting, the base has 2 bolts that keep it from pivoting but the jaw section just rotates ? The other vise that looks just like it has 2 bolts on the side of the casting that secure the jaws from rotating, I've just not seen one that doesn't lock down somehow. I also picked up Sun Engine analyzer from the same guy it's old a huge great shape though, picking it up tomorrow paint looks good all the decals are there about 6' wide and 5' tall with the oscilloscope and all the other gauges I don't think I'd ever use it but it looked to cool to let it go to a scrap yard. Anyway any info or thoughts on the vise would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric

The round cap that the slide passes through at the tail of the vise has a cap screw that is visible in the second picture but rotated out of view in the first. There should be one on the other side as well. Try tightening those to lock the jaw rotation. As was said, it is a import vise, but if it does what you ask of it, then it's not crappy by that frame of reference. I own and have seen many high quality, valuable vises, that don't have a manufacturer or "USA" on them, so it's safe to ignore that bit of hyperbole.

This is a generic Chinese made vise that's sold under multiple brand names. It's quality is marginal.
It might be useful to cousin Guido, for weighting down those sent to sleep with the fish. :lol_hitti

Thank you for the help, The other one( older) I have works great I've beaten on it and the little anvil plate, plenty solid for me. Thanks again, I wasn't looking for a collector piece was just hoping to find out how it worked. Thanks again. Eric
