There is a guy in town selling a Hobart 135 mig welder. Problem is the torch/sting side is missing so would need to get one. Is there any way to test that it work without it> Using a test meter may be? t does power up. Not sure what it might be worth? I do own a big Miller 225 but do not have the 50amp poer for it where I am staying. I would like a smaller one. I need it to weld some rust repair panels on my truck? Thank you

I'd wonder (and be suspicious) why anyone would sell any mig welder without the gun. :headscrat not just the arc, could be wire drive problems as well.

Run, run away IMO

Buy a new one for under $500

Depends on the deal, easy enough to test the wire feeder as you just need to jump the two wires the trigger would use and turn the machine on.

Gas solenoid should open & the wire feeder should spin. Make sure it varies with the wire speed dial.

Could probably get a new whip for $50 on amazon

75 bucks is probably worth a gamble if you can jumper the connector and see the wire feed move.
