Hi all, I found this old wilton vise in my dad's garage. Don't know much about it, anyone know these? It measures about 22" in length when closed, I'm guessing the red paint isn't original. Opposite side as photo says Wilton Chicago. Handle is a little bent, vice moves good. To be honest, I would like to sell this. Any clue what a value would be? I'm having a hard time coming up with info online. Any info at all would be much appreciated. I can upload more pics if needed.

If the number on the side is the jaw measurment, its got 6" wide jaws and thats a pretty big wilton vise. Probably north of 100lbs. Condition is everything with bench vises and yours does show its age.

The vise would of originally been grey and may or may not of had a swiveling base for it.

I would be interested in the vise if you are planning to sell

I am definately planning to sell. I am trying to research to see what they go for. Do you have a price in mind that you would pay for this?

For a 1st generation Wilton pushing 65-70 years old, I think that big guy is better then most that age. I have one No.6 and the jaw support is broken off one side. Your's is nice! Size can sometimes work against you if you plan on listing it on Ebay. You might get $100-$150 on CL depending on where you live. I would call its condition..nice with no chips, welds, or pieces missing. It would make a great addition for a guy with a steel table looking for a bigger welding vise or any metal worker. Don't be in too big of a hurry to sell it. Sometimes these bigger vises sell themselves.

Notice guys where the channel bar and the dynamic jaw meet is one piece. Wilton had a one piece dynamic from the 40's almost thru 1970 when they changed its design and straigthened the bar steel and since it was two different metals they they made the dymanic part with a ID to accept the channel once its pressed in. If you have a 500 1974 on, a 600 1974 on, a C1, C2, C3 you could take off the front collar and you can see the steel dowel from the front of the channel bar that actually sets and keeps that bar in place.
The newer 600 Dynamic is over 10 lbs heavier then this one. I've weighed them.
