Hello and welcome to my new garage and home addition build page. The addition is pretty small compared to the garage but it will be tied together via a breezeway so logically I will post a few pics of the garage along the way.

We just recently moved from a newer home that had a 5 car garage. 3 across and double deep. True ability to park 5 cars. I used the back half for my boat and workshop. We just moved in early June into an older home on some land. The house has a 3 car garage but with my boat, truck, wife car, mowers and kids junk I knew I needed my own man cave/garage. So the digging will begin shortly.

The plan will be to add roughly a 12 x 12 addition to the house to be used as our new laundry room and mud room. The new roof will then extend 10 feet as a breezeway before it dies into the side of my new 24 x 30 garage.

Garage will be built pretty standard right now. Looking forward to hearing build out ideas once the shell and walls are up. It will have two large 9 x 8 doors to accommodate my tall truck and boat. It will also have a rather substantial loft that in the beginning I will access via an attic drop. In the future and will be built out with a header a door out the back with a set up stairs on the backside. I contemplated building the steps inside the garage but the floor space it took up was just too much for my liking. Other notables will include 11 foot ceilings, gas line, electrical, power doors, steeple, stone finishing and 8 foot ceilings in the loft.

I know I am missing more but will add as I move along. Below is a pic of my old garage, the new site and the finished plans.

Look forward to updating as I move along. Digging is supposed to start next week. One note, the garage and addition will be built on a block foundation and poured garage floor.

Old Garage: The day we moved in.

Build Site and current garage.

Below are the finished plans.

Looks like a nice build. Doors seem small for a truck and boat at only 8×9? Any shots of the boat/truck during test fitting?

Thanks, No I don't need to test fit... 8 x 9 seems small? My truck is lifted and it sits right at 6'5'', my boat is a new Bass Tracker....probably sits no more than 4' tall on the trailer...what seems small? The door width is actually 9'4''.
