Hello All,

I just happened across someone who had a Craftsman 150 Drill Press and thought it was a cool looking drill press. It got me thinking that I might like to have one. I'd rather buy something older and well built and fix it up then buy something new and cheaply built. In the shop, I have a larger drilling/milling machine, but not a smaller drill press. A smaller dp would come in handy for quick non-precise jobs.

I starting looking for a used 150 or something similar. I came across a Henry Power Tools Craftmaster bench top model on Kijiji (Canadian version of Craig's List). I think it looks fairly similar to the early Craftsman 150 dp.

The spindle seems to turn nice and smooth and runs fairly straight and true. The motor needs some work, wiring just hanging off of it. The feed stop rod is missing the two jam nuts. Also the spindle thrust collar nut (that is used to remove the chuck) is missing. And after closer inspection when i got it home, the base has a crack on the bottom side around the hole where the column goes. It can be welded though, I'm sure.

I've searched online but haven't come across an owner's manual or parts list. If anyone has any info about this dp and would care to share, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some pics of the dp as I purchased it and some partially disassembled pics.

My plan is clean it up, get it working and paint it.

Found and restored this little Craftmaster table saw last summer. Thought I'd carry the ball a bit with this thread.
