Picked up this Herbrand tool box last week. Wondering about the vintage. Guessing it's pre-WWII - probably late 30s, but we don't see much of this brand in the Northwest. Appreciate any help.

Those toolboxes are very dangerous. Lots of sharp corners, lots of rust...would be real easy for you to pick up tetanus. :scared:

PM me and I will help you solve this problem. :)

It only had one Herbrand wrench in it. It was full of mostly Plomb, Craftsman, and the oldest P&C stuff I have ever seen (why I bought it). Most all of the tools were from the 30's and 40's.

If there are any Herbrand experts out there I was hoping to place a manufacture date on this box. The tail say's "Since 1881". Alloy Artifacts say's tools with that on them are from 1931, I wouldn't have said it was that old but know less than nothing about Herbrand. Thanks for any help.

:thumbup:It isn't in their 1939 Catalog.
Herbrand called these "Magic Chest", the similar 1 drawer models are MC-101 and MC-104 which fitted atop the "Railway Workshop" MC-103
