Here is another tool I have found in the workshop that I don't know precisely what it is used for.

My guess is an old paint can opener

It has SICRA embossed on it but I am unfamiliar with the brand. But SICRA does seem to make paint in other parts of the world.

But I can't figure out why it has two points that would push into a lid.

Anybody know?

I don't know what "SICRA" is, but around here that's known as a 'church key'.
...Slang for can opener, in case it's not common to your region. The name comes from the days when beer came in cans... real cans, not aluminum containers with easy-open tops. I see no real size reference but I suspect the one pictured is bigger, like for food service or paint can size?

At that size it is more likely a cathedral key!

It has a point at the top and one further down as can more easily been seen. But I don't think it has a catch for the lip of a can.

I'll try to get a better picture of the working end in a couple days.

BTW - reposted
And the consensus was: that SICRA is one of the world's largest maker of paper money. And with the different colour finger prints on the piece it is likely a specialty can opener for ink.
