I just found this site last week and have been admiring the shops. There are some really great ideas here.

I'm a retired Navy Chief and am enjoying life after the Navy. My wife found our house. As a good Navy wife she has always had a nack for finding us great places to live. The prior owner put up metal buildings for a living so this was his shop. It is well insulated and has beams in the floor so you don't have to run a ground when welding. This time she says she got a so so house and I got a great shop. Well actually there are 3 shops and a barn. We have been here for 3 years and are enjoying our little 5 acre place.

Life is good :) Here are some pictures of the shops:

Did I mention I have a really great wife. The main shop has Dish Network, a full size fridge and a Bose surrond sound system (lifestyle 12). I spend most of my free time out here working on the bike or the trucks or watching the Nascar races. I also seem to smile alot.

Nice shop Master Chief. We could have used you last weekend, seems some pirates had a deathwish, off the coast of Somolia.

Awesome looking set-up brother!!! I've got 2 years to go until retirement and can only hope to have half the place you have. The wife is slowly coming around to my needs!

Life after retirement is great brother. I miss the people but am glad to be away from the stress. The shop is a great place to go to forget the day. Before you retire make sure you get all your medical documented and file your VA claim.

:drink::drink::drink:Congrats Chief; may your 'shore billet' be the best duty station ever! When I was a young man, I did six years Navy Nuc' and that was enough for me. As a NCC(CRF) you must have experienced more than your share of frustration with bureaucracy.
Great looking shop(s); definitely big enough to build a boat you can be Captain of - that is, if the Admiral (wife) lets you! LOL

Big enough to build a ship.
Or are those days behind you?

I have arrived at Fiddler's Green.

Fiddler's Green is an old Irish legend that a sailor can find the paradisical village by walking inland with an oar over his shoulder until he finds a place where people ask him what he's carrying. There he will find the place where the music never stops, the girls always dance and the mugs never run dry.
