OK... By popular request, I am editing this post and now posting the pictures directly. Not a link to my .mac website! Thanks for your patience!

But if you want to look at more, here are the rest of them on my website: http://web.mac.com/sjsamaha/Site/Tools.html

MD11, None of the pics and some of the JavaScript widgets aren't showing up for me. I am on a PC running Firefox. They do show up in IE though. Nice tools though.

I'm having issues with IE and Firefox, for some reason. =( I see the mini photos but not the large photos. Mac photo album also apparently hates new tabs.

Great, you went for quality, not quanity, but at the price you paid, I'd say you got quite a bit. Snap-on guy probably needed some overhead cash, hence the great deal on the box, nice color too.

Nothing on Firefox, thumbnails only on IE using Vista. Thumbnails look great, though!

Nice tools MD11... did you ever fly the MD10? I love the tri-holers, especially the big DC/MD birds. What are your feelings on the whole "MD11 is an inherently unstable and unsafe plane" comments?

I never flew the MD10, but I did fly the DC10.. The MD11 was given a bad reputation by bad pilots. Period.

But if you want more, let me start by saying that YES, it does have a smaller tail (horizontal) and as such has more inherit instability, especially at slow speed.. but the LSAS (lateral Stability Augmentation System) makes that transparent to the pilot if he flies the airplane on the numbers.. It's when you hot dog it and fly it too fast / or slow on approach that you find yourself in the situation where the landing accidents occurred. On that MD10 crash landing that Fedex had, that was nothing at all to do with LSAS, but more to do with a unfit pilot being given far too many chances due to "her" gender.

American Airlines also gave it a bad name with the fuel system as they kept trying to run it like a DC10, with a manual fuel control system, when the MD11 (to this day) is the most automated systems airplane flying. You don't touch anything up overhead, unless the book tell you to.. that's why we call it "the snake pit"
