Here’s some pictures of my hobby 32x48 shed. As you can see I need some organizing skills. It’s used mostly to work on my kids cars and of course for storage. I did rough in plumbing for a bathroom when it was built 7 years ago but ran out of funds to finish. My current goal is to build a 12x32 lean to on the right side to hold the carpenter tools, lawn equipment and the other stuff, hopefully.

I love it! Looks like mine, only bigger and better haha! You also just made me happy about the idea of my kids driving for the first time ever! I never thought... More cars, more things to work on out in the garage!

I like the design. Do you mind sharing what it cost to build, how long it took to build, and if you built it yourself or contracted it out?

I like the design with the big open front. Having plumbing would be a great asset but not required. I can't tell from the pictures but is that insulated at all?

Model A Fan, I was building my house when I decided to do the shed and I hired all the structure out. All I did prior to them building was brought in chert for the pad and the rough in for the plumbing. The total costs of $20k was the complete structure, the slab, 3 insulated garage doors with one opener, entry door, one window and gutters. I did the all the electrical and copper plumbing for the compressor air.

Maineiacmoose, I had a choice of the double bubble or regular insulation that’s vinyl on the inside as part of the deal. The bubble has foil on the outside and colored white on the inside. The insulation value of the double bubble isn’t that great and, if I had to do it over again, I would use the insulation. Maybe even both.

Here’s one of my Son’s project that took us about 3 years to do. Still needs a paint job and a few final touches. Has a 5.9 cummins with 5 spd, P/S, A/C and tilt wheel.

I don’t know why one of the pictures is upside down?

Turned out great and that's a great price!

I saw a 1970-something with a Cummins in it the other day up near Bellingham.

Thats a great space, really like those big door as well!

I have a 69 Ford f100, swapped a 302 into it with a 5 speed. It was my dads truck. Your sons truck looks mint- must be great with that Cummins in it!

I think my Son said he has put about 20k miles on it since we got it running. Having the cummins in it seems to be a good conversation starter at the pumps. And, it is a blast to drive.
On a side note my new Challenger CL10V3 lift is supposed to be installed tomorrow, yeehaw.

That is a nice looking building, looks like home but with more floor showing. On the addition have you considered just adding another bay to maintain the roof line? Remove the metal from the end of the building and reuse it on the end of the new bay.

Thanks for the compliments. I haven’t really thought about keeping the roof line with the addition. I’m sure it would look better but I just don’t have the additional funds for the trusses and extra metal. The attached pictures show why I don’t have the funds, lol. Had the lift installed today. Plus, I can build most of the lean to without having to ask for help.

It looks like your lift is centered in the building - or about 16' from the door. How is that distance working out for you? Just trying to get an idea for placement in the future.

The posts are actually centered at 15’ from the the outside edge of the garage door. This allows more room up front for tools and such but also allows plenty of room at the back. Even with the big long truck on it I have more than enough room. To answer your question, it working out great. Thanks

Nice looking building!

How high are the garage doors, and how high are the door tracks? Looks like you have plenty of clearance to raise the door without hitting the truck. I'm planning my own 32x48 (doors on the 32' side due to topography). Modelling it in sketchup it looks like I can get a truck on the lift with 12' walls and 10' doors if I bring the door tracks up close to the ceiling.

My garage walls are 12’, the doors are 10x10’ with the tracks being not much higher, see attach, just a standard type door track. I have seen some like you mentioned that follow the ceiling line. I don’t anticipate any door clearances with the vehicles I own, or my kids.
