used "Snap-On L-78 model ratchet. This ratchet is in working order. The drive measures a inch and a half (1-1/2") and ratchets both directions. The handle is the original measures 36" long, overall length is 42" and weighs 50 lbs. In my research have only seen 2 of these ratchets on the internet, one just the head and other had handle replaced. This ratchet is the only one I've seen with original head and handle. It is said to be worth at least $900 but $700 is more realistic to complete a snap-on collection."

Seller needs to show pic of where 'Snap-on' is stamped on tool.

The complete ratchet was called a L78.
The ratchet head in 1990 was called a L78Y and listed for $635.05
The handle was a L55-1 and listed for $119.70
The sliding t-head was a L55-2 and listed for $133.50

He did add a picture to the listing showing the stamped logo on the back side. It also appears that the selector switch is missing.

I asked for a pic that shows the "snap on" stamping , his response was "thanks for inquiring about the ratchet"

The 78 would be older. The 73 and the 78 are the same except for the wheel of the 73 is 1"

He must be reading this thread. The description was updated to mention the missing selector and the price dropped $20 whole dollars.
