Hello everyone.
My first post on this lovely forum! Don't judge my English too harshly, I'm not a native speaker. I come from Russia but I currently live in Luxembourg.
I do love vintage tools as many of you do, so I recently got a Heuer D.R.P. 100 mm vise on ebay.de, it looks very clean (barely any rust, just minor surface one) but squeaks, bet it needs cleaning/greasing. There's a restoration video on exactly the same model and size on YouTube, which I'm gonna be doing soon. I would also be happy if someone could figure it's approximate age. I've found some info on DRP (Deutsches ReichsPatent = German Imperial Patent). According to a webpage I've found, the term could have been used from 1891 to 1952, would be nice if the manufacture date can be narrowed down further. I will contact Heuer with this question, they were quite responsive to e-mails in the past.
The vise: jaw width 100 mm (actual 101.5 mm), max opening ~106 mm, weight 9.150 kg.
P.S. I also have a new Heuer (today the firm is called Brockhaus Heuer) Front 120 mm vise with interchangeable jaws and it's a nice unit as well.
I tried to attach images of the vise, but the forum software tells me I must have 5 or more posts before I can post links or pictures. Oops...
