I just bought these guys to compliment the Craftsman T-handles and sockets I already own. We have Bondhus and Eklind in the shop at work and have no complaints.

I got the gold guard Bondhus as a gift, as I actually would've preferred the simple black hex key set. With that being said though, I have been very impressed with the gold guard finish and how it hasn't worn away like I thought it would.

YMMV

My gold guards work great and, yes, they are drop-dead gorgeous...in the context of tools, I mean.

I guess the idea is that it resists corrosion. Not sure if it's functionally any different than the "bright guard" finish, but I have no complaints

I like my Eklinds

Eklind sets (Made in USA) are free at Menards right now after mail in rebate. If you're not familiar, the rebates come as a store credit. However, I find I spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ at Menards each year (many thousands), so I always pick up the freebies as I know I'll use the rebate within a week of getting it back.

Just grab something USA made that feels solid, have yet to break one. Torx on the other hand .....

SAME HERE! I've replaced almost every one of my Snappy Torx 1/4" and 3/8" drive sets. I even let the Snappy dealer break one trying to get the seat belts out of a 77 GMC Jimmy (you know, Chevy's specialty driver, not Torx).

Broke THREE of those, trying to upgrade those seat belts. Now I own two, and haven't used them since....don't even know if Chevy still uses that particular driver on anything else....

Here's one for you guys--Anyone remember when the Snappy stuff used Roll-pins to hold the bits in the sockets, NOW they are just pressed in 1/4" drive bits. Getting cheaper.....

Bondhus do indeed make great L shape Allen keys, I have a set of their short tip ones.

The best socket ones are snap on gold finsh, heavy duty ones. Just like the torx ones I have, they are brilliant and the only ones I'd trust.
