New to the forum just found it this morning when I was looking for of all things heavy duty adhesive removers. Working on a 68 mustang that has a vinyl top and was working at getting 48 year old glue off of it.

Cool site and I just happen to be in the midst of building a new garage so I posted some pics over on the garage build site.

Never the less looking to get some good ideas for my shop on this site.

Welcome from another Texas Mustang fan! Solvent with Xylol, gloves, green ScotchBrite pads, ventilation, no fire...normal stuff. Still a lot of work though!

Tex: since there are thousands of good garage builds if you go in your GJ profile and put a link to yours you might get a few more viewers and quicker answers to your questions if you have any.

welcome

Thanks for the advice, good at that, I will have to mess around with my profile and figure it out.

Yep, just another hillbilly up here but loving it where the humidity is low. Thanks for the welcome! I drive though there on occasion as my mom is now living down on the southern coast.

Drives, thanks for the advice on the sig line. And the avitar I have been using for some time now, I took that picture a few years back when I was at the Petit LeMans race in Atlanta. Did not realize it at the time as I had taken hundreds of pictures over the weekend and found it a few months later and had to laugh at it and it still makes me laugh to this day.

Good call on the supplier of material for my build, I chose to go with Mueller after looking at a lot of other suppliers and realized I could build it for less but I do not think the quality of materials was there with other suppliers. Mueller does not build the building they just supply the materials and then you can either build it yourself or use one of their network contractors. I had initially thought I would go with a stick building but went this way instead and all being said the price is about the same and this will hold up better in the long run.

Speaking of my sig and garages I took that picture a few years back when I was working for an ALMS team and I did design development for their equipment and garages. One of my first jobs there was to give their road garage a facelift.

Here are some pictures starting with what the garage looked like when I first joined the team and some of my CAD design work and then the first build along with some race setups. It was the best setup in North America no doubt. The doors are carbon fiber frames with a lexan window pane. This took about six hours to assemble at every race which was a pain in the *** but it looked cool as all hell!

Tex: there are not enough great words to explain how cool that set up looks. very nice and thanks for sharing some pictures.

have you driven any of those cars or maybe you own a few to put in that great garage you are building?

i made another post and moved over the Mueller part of your post there and feel free to post these and more pictures of your racing team's and i bet you'll get a lot of positive posts from those members who see your thread.

if you have any questions about the forum just ask, but it looks like you have a good start now. since there are a lot of designers and builders here on the forum if you have any questions during your build just ask and maybe one will see it and give you a quick answer.

good luck and again welcome to our group. i usually hang in old tools, but I've been moving around a bit to learn more about the members which has been fun too.

Drives,

Thanks much for all of the positive comments and the help in getting some of this all set up. It is much appreciated.

Can say I do not own any of the cars posted they are above my pay grade other than the 68 stang that is and a few other stangs in my collection. As far as driving these cars you just about have to be the size of a horse jockey to fit in one of these and well I am not of that stature.

Just being a part of the team in that last year of ALMS was a great deal of fun and having been a fan prior to joining the team it was one of those bucket list jobs that we all wish we could have.
