Very nicely done TONE. The dark slatwall is great - you really don't see it very often. You should be very proud of your work.

Obviously, you don't share my packrat nature - I see all that space up high near the ceiling and just want to fill it with stuff. :) Good for you on taking a clean uncluttered approach.

Wow, shopnut, I had the exact same thought at looking at all the empty space on the walls. But I'm glad he didn't do anything more than the TV, clock and Mach 5.

Did some additional photos appear? I didn't see this one the first time through, nor the one with the fridge.

That is "The Great Wall of Fasteners" if I ever saw it! WOW!

Yeah, I'm trying to minimalize everything. Yes, you guys are right, I could add storage of sorts above the slatwall.

I've actually been able to move alot out of the garage (yard stuff) since we built a "playhouse".

LOL, neighborhood can't have sheds, but we can have playhouses.

That's a great tip for many of us city slickers! I'll have to check with the association.

Awesome thread! Glad you got the final view pics up there. I will definitely be using some of your ideas for my interior decorating in the near future (imitation is the highest form of flattery....). Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the nice words folks.

I am however, going to be re-doing alot of it this Spring. I will post more about that soon. I discovered some things that simply do not work as well as I had hoped for.'

Stay tuned.............

Great looking garage and car. How do you like the Racedeck and would you buy it again? Is it very loud walking on it?

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the thread; where did you get the counter tops and what dimensions are they?

I assume the cabinets are 12" deep?

Thanks!

Ok--this inspires me to keep working on my garage. I get discouraged at the time (and funds) it takes to get a garage looking like this-but this encourages me to keep going Awesome setup! Good idea on ladder storage too.

TONE,

This is one of those 'standard' threads that I would show someone when I tell them, "You won't believe some of the insanely amazing garages on here, check this out..."

WELL done, sir!

Thread timeline:

Beginning - nice photos, floor laid down, cabinets being stained...
Middle - no photos for 150 posts, reader gets a little discouraged
End - BAM!!!!!! Reader is suckerpunched in the face with a gorgeously finished garage.

You sure know how to make it entertaining, Tone! Amazing place you've got there. Any more pics of the 911?

Thanks everyone.

Sorry about the missing photos.

To answer some of the questions above........

Love my Racedeck, I'm one of their old customers. This floor is from a previous location. Bought it close to 10 years ago now. It moves with you. :)

As for the countertop, I did a thread on it. Let me find the link.

I like them alot. I was at first thinking about doing some cool barn light pendants, but swayed away due to cost and fear of them not being bright enough.

I ended up buying 6 fixtures from Home Depot. They work really well. I use my garage constantly and the lights are on all the time. Only had one bulb go out so far in almost 2 years.

Only thing I would have done differently is a white cord instead of the black. To late now. :3gears:

How do you like the lights? I was just looking at the same ones at home depot today, still trying to decide on my layout and how many lights I want/need.

I just joined the forum.
Beautiful garage man, way to go!
I'm trying to find out where you got your counter tops from (looks like stainless steel). There are quite a few threads to sort through and somewhere along the lines the pictures stopped showing up in my browser. So forgive me if you've already covered this question.
Just wondering how much, where you got it, and basic install tips.
Thanks!
and thanks for the inspiration!

Wow!:shocking: Awesome garage! I am doing the same color scheme (black cabinets with red doors) and hope it turns out half as nice as yours. I have one of those tall metal cabinets that we picked up at a yard sale for $30.00. I hope you do not change it too much. But I understand the importance of function over form.

Hey Tone what can you tell us about your stairs? I really liked the way you dressed them up. Did you just add cut diamond plate sheets or did you find some kind of stair kit? If it is cut plates how are they affixed?

Every time I look at your garage I find something new I like.

Oh never mind. I dug deeper in the thread and found my answers.

"I had the steps fabricated from a local metal fabrication shop-supplier.

Dan..................

The rubber threads on the steps where ordered from Griots. Think around $10 each."
