Mine arrived beginning of the week - no problems at all with shaft fit. Shaft from my Snappy comfort grip driver fits the stubby SK, albeit not quite as tightly as the SK shafts. Interestingly, the flex shaft will fit in the Snappy, but is tight so the ratchet drags. The short SK shaft won't fit thru the cap hole on the Snappy at all (without really trying to force it) - so it looks like there is something to there being a slight difference in the SK shaft diameters after all - just not enough with my set to cause problems with the stubby handle.

I got mine yesterday. Same experience here, except the flex shaft doesn't seem to bind in the Snappy.

I received a response from Sears. I would really like to believe this, could it be true?

"Dear Mr. Schxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting sears.com.

We appreciate your consideration of Sears for your tool needs. The 73676

did verify the information by directly contacting SK tools.

Look for Great Ideas throughout the store and find Sears exclusive

What do you think? On the S•K site, some of the tools are shown with a "USA" logo, some are not. This set is not displayed with the logo.

I had given up on them responding, and sent an inquiry to S•K just before receiving the Sears email.

We'll see what S•K says.

At any rate, I really like the screwdriver. It would be nice if it came with a long non-flex shaft, but for the price, I am very happy with it.

And the plot thickens...

"Dear William -
Thank you for your inquiry about SK part number 73676. This part
number is made in Taiwan. This part is typically packaged in a blow
molded case and then in a printed sleeve. The sleeve is where the
information such as the contents and Country of Origin are located.
Since you received a product without the sleeve, I will be sure to look
into why the sleeve was not included and will make sure that moving
forward we will have the sleeve included.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Nathan Buckert

I replied and thanked Mr. Buckert for his response and also informed him that the cardboard sleeve was included with the tool, but it doesn't have any origin information on it. I also included the Sears response stating the tool is made in the USA.

I should have offered to mail him the sleeve, maybe that will be next.

I noticed that my flex shaft is very stiff and barely flexes at all, almost like having a regular long extension.

I would be more inclined to believe the SK response, not the Sears email. I'm surprised they even bothered to respond at all. thanks for checking into that. I still think it's a pretty good screwdriver either way.

I am sure that SK is giving me accurate information. Maybe they can correct the issue with the missing information on the sleeve. They might take this opportunity to correct the spelling errors on it as well..;)
