Hello, figured I should introduce myself. I have had my membership for a few months and a lurker for much longer than that. Thanks to a few here I already have my vice vise.
I recently decided to go though my garage and turn it into the shop I have always wanted. With appropriate wife approval I am in the process of reframing the ceiling joists to allow attic storage. Moved the water heater out of the garage for more space and added a large washtub just on the outside of the garage.
Plans include adding a 100 amp subpanel for plenty of power, adding more overhead lighting, and running airlines in the garage from the air compressor I am putting outside and putting in some good flooring (haven't decided yet on which way to go).
I wish I had more space on our property for a large shop as all I am dealing with is a typical 2 car attached garage. That is ok though as even though this will allow some occasional welding, lots of wrenching and other household projects, it will be like an addition to the house because the finished product will be very nice with drywall and some corrugated sheet metal on the lower half of the walls.
