yes i'm using it. . . . its okay. not bad as long as you aren't opening and closing the drawers all day long. When i bought mine, I just needed something to throw tools in. I did grease up the slides very well before loading up the drawers.

it works for me but daily use might not be as forgiving.

Get a roll of heavy duty Reynolds Wrap. Fold it over, doubled. That's the drawer stock on that unit.

It is the absolute lowest grade out there. It does function, but you will never get the $170 back after you start to hate the box.

Issues:

Weak seams
Thin metal
Poor drawer slides
Flimsy construction
Cheap feel

It looks good for photographs, but when you compare it side to side with the US General models that HF sells (The red ones), you'll immediately notice the difference. And with the big sales HF puts out, you can pretty much count on the nicer red tool chests go on sale about every 3 months.

I bought this one for 149$ at my local HF and its a good starter box for a home garage. I went to HF to look at their taller narrow box I think its an 18 drawer unit and ended up with this one. I used it at my previous job as a Production machinist and Fabricator in a large factory. I will say this, if you need a very secure unit this isnt it. There were three shifts in the lower plant and two in our machine shop and I was always worried about my box being pryed open like a can of peaches and looted. which was a common issue there for others. I still have the box right now tis beyond overly full and sits in the corner of my bay. Im not a diesel mechanic for a Deere dealer. Once you get weight into it dont be rolling it around much. I wouldnt mind building a base for it and removing the casters for it to sit into that would improve the box about 250% making it mobile while full of tools. Hope that my ramble has been of some help to you. Just FYI I plan to move this box into my garage at home as soon as I replace it with a tool cart.

However with all that being said. If I had it to do again I would have just bought the 780# capacity rolling tool cart they have. Its red and built much better than this box is and its about the same price. So...food for thought there. Everyone else is correct its very flimsy and I wouldnt pay $170 for it. If I were you check your local craigslist.

keep watching CL- there seems to be lots of deals these days. I got this old Waterloo roller cabinet a week ago for $20- this is the picture after I cleaned it up. Solid as hell, works great, just looks a bit rough. Can you imagine what anything made by HF will look like when it is this old?

I checked one out a year ago or so. You'd be better off finding an older Craftsman box on CL.

I got one when it was on sale for 149.00 for an "overflow" box. It's pretty good for that but I wouldn't use it for everyday or heavy duty work

I expect the good boxes from HF to look at least that good in 30 years. No reason not to.

Have been using one of these for about a year and one half. Bought on sale when they were $139. If you plan to use it for mechanic tools I would look at something that is more heavy duty. However, I use it for machinist tools and it works great for them. I have a few of the Kennedy machinist boxes and while not quite as durable as a Kennedy box they work fine for lightweight machinist tools. Again, if you plan on using one of these for heavy, bulky, mechanic type hammers, wrenches, ratchets they are not going to work for you. For the money and the purpose that I am using them for they work just fine.

I used the largest drawer for all my sockets at my last job when I was building and assembling form cleaning trailers. But the majority of the big drawers were filled with vice grip clamps and other machinist and welding tools. They are a good lil starter box for a machinst though.

If you actually want one just about every car magazine has a coupon for this. They are usually $140 or $150. Personally I was given one and after looking at it left it. They have some pretty good toolboxes for not that much more. The red 26in is pretty good for the money and I love my 56in.

If your wanting to know what one looks like over filled but still useable(as long as you dont roll it around)here it is.

thats just some of the drawers. Oh and BTW if you have a 25inch breaker bar it will only fit across the top lid of the box as you can see in the picture.
