I bought parts to get my 86 Mr2 running again. Thing is though, it has coilovers so its too low for my jack. I roll my 88 onto 2x4s sometimes to get to the rear motor mount, but its not as lowered. I think getting wood and rolling the car on it is a hassle. 1 2x4 isnt too bad, but if I were to get under my 86 I need maybe a 4x4 or 4x4 and a 2x4. Just doesnt seem practical or even too safe.

I've been thinking about the T handle super low pro jack from HF: http://www.harborfreight.com/low-pr...k-with-rapid-pump-2-ton-heavy-duty-68050.html

anyone have any initial thoughts or comments?:dunno:

price is 142 online, and I jus called and confirmed thats the in-store price as well. Only however, says its 109 when added to your cart, shipping is 22. Comes out to 132ish shipped. Should I pull the trigger? Or has anyone seen it cheaper? or recommend anything else?

I got that one a couple of months ago but have only used it once so far. I like it so far, no problems. I think it might be made by Arcan (XL2T) -very very similar. Costco has a stronger jack (3-1/4 ton) for less money ~$99 I think, but doesn't lift quite as high. I didn't have access to Costco so I got the HF. No regrets here.

Does the costco model have the low profile and low/long capabilities as this one? I wouldnt mind checking it out, but not only do I need a pretty low jack, I need it long to be able to reach the lift points that are deep

Looks like 3-1/2" height - Arcan page. Costco jacks used to be 3-1/2 ton from what I have read and some have found these mixed in with the newer 3-1/4 tons. Cheers.

Not bad at all. Although a bit cheaper, I think the HF might suit my needs a bit better. It is lower at 2 5/8 compared to 3.25; and it is longer which I need to get deep under the car to the motor mount (mid engined mr2) HF is 39" long, the costco is 27. That costco has that low and long perfect shape, but just not long enough. Probably the exact jack I use at school. I can barely reach the rear motor mount lift point (1/4- 1/2" away from hitting my miffler) which is fine, but its not even close to reaching the front lift point.

Any other GJ'ers have any experience with the HF 2 ton T handle? Anyone have it? The reviews on the HF page are great, a lot of "perfect" comments.
But I'd like to get some GJ'ers opinions before I pull the trigger. Its in my cart ready to go! haha. total is $131.93 shipped

I have this jack:

It looks to be a shorter version of the jack you're looking at. I've had it under the car probably 10-12 times now and its worked perfectly. It seems like a very well made jack for the price. I got it for $70 after finding a coupon online and they only charged me $6.99 flat rate shipping. I wouldn't hesitate that jack. But definitely google the item number first. I'm sure there's coupon codes out there for the jack you're looking at as well.

I bought the 68050 jack a couple of months ago. I've used it a couple of times. Based on my experience with jacks, which isn't super extensive, it seems well built. I did grow up on a pretty large farm, and we were always monkeying around with heavy equipment. It lifted my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee pretty handily. I bought it with a $99 coupon. You might want to look around and see if you can find one, or wait until another one comes up. I also looked at the Costco Arcan 3.5 ton jack. There isn't a Costco that's really convenient for me, and then there is the $60 membership fee. The HF jack had a greater lifting range in comparison to the Arcan. I would like to get a polyurethane pad for it.
