On sale the HF 20 ton press generally goes for about $160.00. And YES, it is very much worth it!

Not to derail the thread.......but........you gotta love HF variable pricing. Thought when they got sued they agree to stop the practice ????

Agree the press does what it needs to do.....

What is the cheapest you have paid for this and is it worth it?

It was on sale for $139 plus 20% coupon which ended up around $111. This is for the model 60603. I cancelled the order since shipping was $300 and I ended up buying a Dake from Zoro as free shipping to my freight forwarder in California then $200 to Hawaii.

Just checked HF, it's now $189.

I paid $140-something for mine. Absolutely worth it. It's a great press for that type of money. I bought the 20 ton because I don't trust Chinesium but pressing a bearing shouldn't require half of that force. If you pump and it doesn't move at all...consider a different method. But I live in Florida...people in NY or Michigan probably have 50 or 100 ton air over hydraulic presses and make friends with guys in machine shops with 200 or 500 ton presses.

I bought mine for $139. 99 in the store with a super coupon, lowest I've seen them. I restore old garden tractors so I need this to do some metal bending. My next welding project to make some angled dies. I'll be looking for the 20 ton air/hydraulic jack to go on sale next & convert this.

There are several threads about these presses, the vast majority of people are very happy with them, including me. There are many ways to improve them as well, it just depends on what you want to do. I "pimped" mine a bit, adding an air/hydraulic jack, winch system, casters, knob for jack valve, and clips to hold the handle. I also have a metal brake to use with it as needed. A very handy tool indeed.

One tip - there are two versions of the 20 ton press. Get the #60603. It bolts together rather than being welded together, and it has the plasma cut steel plates.

This is mine before adding the air/hydraulic jack.

Well went to go pick one up for 139.00 yesterday and wouldn't you know it, they didn't have the 60603. Well maybe next time. I might try to build me one if I can find the scrap steel.

I'm my opinion it's JUNK. Bed is way too narrow for a lot of work and it's chincy. The hydraulics and accessories are junk too. Save your money and step up even in the used market. You can find a real 20 ton shop press around the 200 mark.
