On behalf of the forum, thank you making the time to share that with us.

Chipper, looks great! The finish looks good in the photo; did you use cans or a gun?

Thanks man i used rattle can for the base(I'm partial to rustoleum painters touch) and then i cleared over it with chromaclear that i had left over from a side job and the lock and drawer accents are just rattle canned...I'm pretty happy with it i like it a lot better orange then black

How durable will it be?

The clear coat over Rustoleum should be pretty good and you can always respray clear to hide light scratches. I think wear on the non-clear parts (handles and lock) will be the issue.

I've got a POS Mac cart that I want to spray. It's gloss black now and I want a flat/industrial black finish. I'm a little reluctant to rattle can it because I can't use a clear coat and I think I might run into wear/scratch issues.

Maybe I should just respray my 56 to gloss black to match the cart?? LOL

Major upgrade! Now you just need to add the Snap On decal, and it will be complete. Seriously I dig the color and think it is a major improvement, I may get one of these to use a few exrtra cans of Rustoleum Flourescent Green on.

Garage Journal : Where we buy tool carts to use paint and not only is it acceptable its encouraged which is awesome.

To the OP, very nice an awesome improvement

That looks Awesome. I got the 5-drawer one from HF and love it, but me and 2 others where I work have the same one. Something like this would really help. Keep us updated on how well the clear protects it from dings.

That rustoleum painters touch is good stuff. The Real Orange that you used is the closest match to the old Western Auto color that I've found in a rattle can. I'm using it to restore a '71 WA tiller (if I can get off my **** and get it done).

I think you should slap an old Western Auto logo on that box. It will really screw with the other toolhead's brains. :bounce:
