It looks like my HF is having a parking lot sale on June 1, 2 and 3. They may be having it at all stores but I only know about the one in Columbia, MO. The ad says that the 40" roll around tool cabinet that several of this forum's members own will be on sale for $349.00. Based on all of the good things I've heard I am thinking seriously about buying one. Is everyone that currently owns one still happy with it? Would you buy one again?

Thanks for your input.

I have the top and bottom with a side unit. I havent found anything wrong with them yet. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend them to anyone. The only dislike I have is the textured paint but other than that I have no complaints.

I have it, and it's a perfectly fine BOX.
I do find that the drawers tend to bind when loaded and you don't close them prefectly straight. Also, it doesn't have the holding capacity that a higher priced box would. It's in no means competition to a KRL or similar, but for holding a bunch of tools and looking pretty to someone not 'in the know', it works just fine.
As I remember someone saying on here -and I repeat to myself when I get the LUST for a nicer box.. "..A toolbox doesn't put food on the table or pay your bills, your tools do."
-I'm a hobbyist, I have this box and I'm sure the wife will buy me the topper for my birthday.

$349 is a pretty good price, although I've never seen that box listed more than 399. With a 15% off coupon that I see fairly regularly I don't think you would need to rush and buy this now opposed to any other time.

BTW, the finish is just fine. The crinkle cleans up just fine with some carb cleaner. (you can't put your stickers on it though. :(

Stay away. They had a demo unit at our local HF that appeared to have sagged under it's own weight during shipping. Was bowed down 2 inches in the middle.

They're extremely thin - might as well be oragami. :D

Sounds sketchy.. Maybe they were using it as a forklift table.

Mine's filled tools -not to the brim, but pretty well stocked, with every drawer being filled. On top I have this OLD HEAVY, (as in OMG, is this SOB filled with lead pigs) top box. To the side of that I have about 18 unches of bench room. When rebuilding my 911, I stored my G50 transmission in that spot. (That G50 is probably a little north of 110lbs)
I was still able to wheel that box aorund fine.. no flexes, no issues.

.. My wife is ... a little big. Well, I don't have that G50 transmission up there anymore, so both her and I got up on top of that box and played rodeo last night We pushed that box around for dare I say two hours last night having a great time. I would say minus all the clothes, we were stressing that top box for atleast another 350, - plus all that BOUNCING.
:lol_hitti

It's a box. it holds tools. It's 350$.
It's good stuff if you'd consider paying 350$ for a toolbox.

At first I wondered why people were buying this H.F. tool chest instead of paying a hundred or two more for a Craftsman box on sale. Now I realize that it is the non-slip crinkle finish that that people find so desirable. How long did it take for the imprint from that wrinkle paint to fade from your skin after that round of dynamic load testing?;)

Kneepads, also at Harbor Freight, $4.99.
Besides, the finish is on the sides, the top has a rubber mat with creases and a US General logo.. I still have it etched into my shin.

And like I said, carb cleaner makes cleanup a BREEZE. -c'mon guys.. work with me....
