HF 40lb Blast Cabinet Mods?

I picked up a HF 40lb Blast Cabinet New for only $100 bucks! A guy purchased it, and never even opened the box! Anyway, I finally got my shop plumbed with iron pipe lines from the shop compressor, and decided to give the cabinet a go. It seems like it wants to work, but the glass bead material that I am using is very choppy through the feed tube, and has moment where the media barely comes out at all. My air is dry, and the long feed lines keep the air nice and cool. Could it be the glass bead media is too heavy? Or that the pickup tube / gun need mods or an upgrade? I searched a bit on the forum and didn't come up with much other than some guys give it a HF Pass. I did see that the comments under the items reviews on the HF site say to go with a pickup tube and gun upgrade. Anyone try this upgrade or make their own mods?

I have a f blast cabinet and there was a hole in the side of the siphon feed tube, I covered it with some putty, works fine, I did have to replace the gun at some point as the abrassive wore a hole in the gun at the part where the hose feeds the gun
