Anyone had any issues with the lock on their 44HF Box ?

I just tried to open the box, sitting here at the track in Indy. I was in it about 2 hours ago and all was fine.

The center portion of the lock has been rotated where my key won't fit it. I'm not sure if it rotated as I took the key out or someone tried to jimmy the lock while we were up making a pass.

I got a couple of screwdrivers out of the truck trying to work the lock open and no success yet. I'm sure that the lock is going to be junk once it's open. That's not an issue at home, I'm sure I can make a Cman lock work in it's place.

So anyone else have a similar issue ? How or what happened? How did you get it open ?

I have not had that issue on mine. Sometimes I have to make sure the drawers are shut all the way or the lock seems to "stick" a little, but otherwise no issues.

I did have a similar issue on a Snap On box I had briefly. My dealer came over and drilled it out and replaced the lock assembly.

Fortunately, I don't need anything out of it right now but I don't really want to wait until I do.

If I break the lock, it's going to be ratchet straps holding the drawers shut on the ride home.

Screwdriver and channellocks.

Lock is working to at least hold the drawers shut and not sure how secure it is.

Knocked the top tooth off the key.

Wanted to update this thread.

Went to the local lick shop and bought a replacement lock.

Ends of the lock were different so it took a little fabrication work with a Dremel and file.

Back to a regular flat key vs a pop machine style key.

I've had several tool boxes over the years. I've had a few with those barrel style locks and I prefer a normal key style if I was given the choice.
