I just picked up some old toolboxes and I'm looking to restore them. I'd like to paint them to match my HF 44" chest. Does anyone know what the best color matched spray paint would be (brand/color)?

Thanks everyone.

I grabbed some paint swatches from lowes when I bought mine wanting to paint my other cabinets to match the box. I found an exact match, just havent had the time to pursue anything farther. I'm thinking of using a spray gun or even a roller. I have seen a beautiful smooth finish done with a roller.

Around here, we have a body shop that can color-match custom rattle-cans. You just bring him in something to match, he scans the color with his scanner, and the computer mixes the color. He puts it in a rattle can for $13. He can also go by paint codes if you happen to be rattle-canning a car...

You might check with your local body shops and paint stores to see if any of them do that. I am partially colorblind, so I **** terribly at matching colors by eye. It's been a life-saver for me, lol. I dread looking at swatches. Now I just walk in, hear the scanner beep, and about 10 minutes later I am out the door with a perfect match.

X2 on the recommendation of CoogarXR to just take a sample to a real auto paint store and they should be able to scan and match it. They can then make up any kind of paint and any size or container type you need.
