My hf 44 detents are pretty weak. The surface it sits on usually is not flat and the drawers slide open on their own. Is there anyway I can adjust or tighten the detents?

On my 56" I put a thin piece of wood under both front wheels. That took care of the drawers wanting to open on their own. If you want it to still be mobile you would have to put a spacer between the cabinet and the wheel.

I saw where someone took and put a block of wood in the back of the cabinet and then glued the rare earth magnets to the wood so when the drawer was pushed in it was grabbed by the magnet and then didn't need the detects. I have been thinking about doing that to mine

That's an idea. I have some of those magnets to.

Mine **** too on the 44. I always keep it locked now which I hate. If I roll it they open. If I walk away from it they open. I wish it had the 56"s lock system at the least.

Bobs idea of the magnets seems interesting.

I wish it had the grip latch style that is on my Craftsman. I may try that magnet trick if I ever move it again.

There are tabs in the back of the drawers to adjust he detents. A very quick search of this forum turned up numerous pages on how to adjust them.
