In my tool box thread, I posted that I got the HF 44 and I am quite happy with it.

What do other 44 owners put in the top of the top box? I can reach it ok, except the inch right at the front.

I have my sockets in the bottom cabinet as I'm trying to keep heavier stuff in the lower sections. I'm thinking of using the top for my cordless chargers and batteries as I always seem to be looking for where I left them plus some cordless tools.

Thanks for the replies.

I got all 4 pieces in 2005. Mine is the older powder coated version.

It's always open. The shocks work good. Just a place to store them and my extra long extensions.

All my 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive sockets, ratchets and accessories are in the top (except my impact sockets which are in cases in a drawer) I screwed my socket rails through the mat into the top of the box, everything is in perfect order, easy to see and ready for a one hand grab.

ALL my sockets are in the Large top drawer Bottom box, it's full. Ratchets in drawer below left, extensions below right drawer.

In the very top I've got mostly safety stuff, glasses, gloves, hearing protection etc. The top stays open and I have hooks mounted inside the lid where hang different respirators and face shields. In the top drawer of the bottom cab I have all my regular hex sockets, ratchets and the longest extensions that won't fit anywhere else.
