HF 44" toolbox locks

I'm looking into getting the whole HF 44" toolbox set top bottom side locker and the extra 7 drawer side. I was wondering if these come keyed alike or if they can be keyed alike so I don't have 4 keys for my toolbox.

Do not come keyed alike from the store, but I'm sure they can be keyed.

I bought a top and bottom set about a year ago. The locks for each are different style.

The lock for the top only locks the lid. The lid in turn is attached to the bar that keeps the drawers from opening. The lock for the bottom is connected via rods directly to the bar that keeps the drawers from opening.

The top lock is one of the round style that's less easy to duplicate, but the lock looks like it is easy to remove. The lock on the bottom is one of the traditional flat keys, with a code on the lock.

You may be able to remove the top lock, replace it with the same style lock as the bottom, and have a locksmith rekey the upper lock to match.

Thanks guys. I was thinking about trying to get the round keys like the higher end boxes like snap on and mac. I just didn't know if that was feasible.

Not surd it applies, but I found my hf 4 drawer cart key and my mac one drawer cart key to be identical. So maybe look at some mac and so boxes to see if they are the same. But I imagine that they would not be cheaper than hf.

Are you referring to tubular locks AKA barrel keys ? If so ,they comes with them..

I've had so many of these things, the only units that never came with the barrel keys were the top chests

The replacement sets that HF sells have flat keys, not tubular.
