Did you check another store nearby ?
That's a stock item in every store (4 or so) I've been in over the last two years. I always check them when I go into a HF to see if they have any of the add ons on a sale price.
I don't recall ever once seeing a store completely out of stock, and damned sure not all in the area.
Maybe the Christmas buying cleared them out, or a shop opened up and decided to save a few bucks and bought several, but I imagine if you check other stores they won't be that hard to find...

There are rumors of a glossy red version coming out soon? Maybe that plays a part in diminished stock?

HFT has the ability to check other stores for inventory. Either the emp was new and didn't know how to check, or was too lazy. Go back and talk with a manager.

That the OP posted their website said none in stock but when you search for the correct item, it does?
Really where did you hear this? I would definetly buy one if the come out in a smooth finish!
Pretty unlikely in my opinion. Also the glossy red looks kinda cheap.
Ok so here's the rest of the story that I left out...
The employee is my cousin by marriage. She was chit chatting with my wife and said that in her computer, which is a crappy DOS system, she showed 1 in stock (the display) and 0 in their building. She also said that the warehouse showed 0 in stock. BUT! They are going through warehouse changes from one location back to Oxnard, where they have always been but changed to another for some odd reason. So the stock she was showing was the warehouse they are getting away from now. They checked today, the warehouse (Oxnard) has plenty on hand and they have 2 on truck to be delivered tomorrow (Thursday) One has my name on it so I will be getting it tomorrow and loading my tools in.
