Hey all, long time lurker, first time I’ve needed to post since I couldn’t find what i was looking for.

I can’t really think of a clean way to hook up a regulator/air line to the new compressor. I really don't like how the air port is on top and the line has to bend down. I bought the ball valve shutoff kit for this thing from HF but it takes a lot
Of adapters to make it work (and yeah they leak)

So here is my fugly mess I transferred from my old compressor. I already have the garage plumbed. What have you guys done thats more clean? Also any recommended regulators?

Thanks!

A 90 degree elbow either before or after the ball valve would clean that up nicely. Are you moving the compressor around a lot? I would remove the quick connect and get a shorter straight hose directly to a wall mounted regulator. Alternatively have regulators at each drop depending on how many drops you have.

Amazon has a lot of nice regulators available at different price points. I am running a $6 "special" on my compressor. Next time I do some upgrades or garage plumbing I'll get an ARO, Pneumatic Plus or other more robust one for a wall mount.

Thanks, no not going to be moving the compressor and wouldn’t mind getting rid of the quick connect.

Are you saying something like this? And just buy a couple feet of air hose and connect it? Admittedly I’ve never used one of these but if my brain is working correctly I like the idea.

The picture you posted is an elbow that connects to air tube. Figure out your pipe size and pick up parts from Homedepot. Pick your favorite material, go brass if you are worried about corrosion.

This is the chicken scratch I wrote down while building out the plumbing for the HF 60-gal compressor I got for my dad a few years ago.

i.php

original configuration before plumbing hardlines past the filter and regulator:

Mine. I check the tightness on the hose clamps maybe every 5 years. It's been like this for at least 20 years (same piece of plastic tubing). I use the ball valve to control the air, not the original valve it came with.

I picked up some stuff from HD.. are brass fittings cool for high pressure stuff? That’s all they had for the connections I needed.
