Went to the Harbor Freight in Adrian, Mi to buy the series 2 30" tool cart. It looks like the old models are being discounted to make room for the new series 2. Was walking the the register and I saw one of the 72" cabinets off to the side where the "sale" items usually are. Sign said $879 open box price, no other coupons or discounts apply. Asked the manager and he said they had the one up front and an un-opened box in the back for the same price.

I got him to agree to $850 but I don't think I'll go for it, I'm pretty set on getting the Homak or Masterforce 72". Other stores may be doing the same thing, good time to check around if your in the market for a box. They didn't have the other sizes, might have went for a 56" for 500 or so..

Who knows?
I’ve got the chance to buy one for $600...but I’m going to pass on it. I’m tired of shallow drawer tool boxes. I’ll make do until I can save up and order a huge box from Strictly Toolboxes.

I saw the new one at my local HF. The drawers are defiantly deeper than the older one. I kind of wish there was an in between model. The new model has spring loaded casters.

Wow 600 is a steal, at that price I think I would buy along with the 72" Homak I'm ordering. Probably would be filled up with all the blow molded cases I have.

Post the location if you are going to pass, maybe help someone out.

Unfortunately I can’t. The deal applied to me only. The manager served in the Army and I served in the Marine Corps; hence the discount. We get along pretty good, but I’d be doing wrong if I betrayed that trust.

I reeeeally wanted to buy it...but as I said before, I’m holding out for a box with deeper drawers.

Got any measurements comparing the two?

With the Series 2 72" in stores now, the original should be discounted at any Harbor Freight that still has one, especially if they only have a display model.
