I have a harbor freight 1.5 ton aluminum jack, and I like to use it when I have to help someone outside of my shop since it’s so light. But I’d like to find a way to store the handle without it being installed in the jack to make it smaller profile. I think putting the handles on either side of the jack itself would be most convenient, maybe into some kind of long handled tool clip but stronger and/or with a ******** it for positive retention. The picture I have attached is what I’d like to go for using both sides of the frame for each half of the handle. Has anyone ever seen or done anything like that? Thanks guys.

For a cheap fix the bungee or a bit more spendy some Quick Fist clamp works to secure the handle. I’d recommend a strong crate/container to control the jack from rolling while driving.

I have not done it yet, but I have a fairly sturdy blow molded plastic case, that a cheaper floor jack (long dead) lived in prior.

The plan is to use a multitool, to whittle out enough plastic for the HF jack and the handles to set in.

Also have a large metal Porter Cable carry case that once held a large long tool (reciprocating saw?) that I think can be used.

Frankly, an old longer metal tools box with a carry handle on the top, might get the job done.

A couple of appropriately sized conduit clamps. Swap the hex nuts for wing nuts.

Drill through the base and use a hitch pin through it and remove the whole handle.
-OR-
add a wing nut type top to the set screw that retains the handle, loosen to store handle separately, and will have a lower profile for storing it in a trunk.
